About the Company

Established in 2007 in New York City, Jacaranda sells museum-quality art to collectors and museums worldwide. Initially specializing in the traditional arts of South and East Africa, Jacaranda now deals in art from throughout Africa as well as Oceania. Jacaranda deals over the internet, at its gallery (by appointment) and participates in the New York and San Francisco Tribal Art Shows.

Our Inspiration

The African Forms exhibition held at the Museum for African Art inspired us to start collecting. The exhibition featured works primarily from the collection of Marc and Denyse Ginzberg and did much to popularize non-figurative African objects previously viewed as mainly of ethnographic interest. The exhibition featured many southern African objects, including important Zulu and Tsonga snuff containers, headrests and sticks. We are still struck by the dignity, restraint and beauty of these objects that can be still be purchased for relatively modest amounts.
