Sbonelo iHubo leNgabadi
‍
Born in the Eastern Cape and raised in KwaZulu-Natal, Sbonelo iHubo leNgabadi comes from a family of traditional ceramic practitioners. He graduated from Durban University of Technology in 2011 with a National Diploma in Fine Arts. Drawing upon his indigenous and spiritual heritage, his sculptural vessels explore the cosmological and ceremonial significance of pottery within South African cultural traditions.

His practice moves beyond conventional distinctions between functional objects and fine art, emphasizing the vessel as an expression of cultural identity and ancestral knowledge. He has exhibited in South Africa and internationally, received several awards, and is represented in public and private collections, including Iziko Museums of South Africa.
